DEPUTY MINISTER MATHALE LEADS AN INTER-MINISTERIAL VISIT TO NWANEDI
Deputy Minister of Small Business Development Cassel Mathale led the Inter-Ministerial visit to Nwanedi on the 18th June 2018. The Department has piloted a cluster programme, wherein 12 farmers in tomato were registered as a primary cooperative with the aim of sharing infrastructure, markets, offices and furniture including sharing of knowledge and experience. The department has funded the cooperative through its Enterprise Incubation Programme to the tune of R8 million.
The cooperative has technical support from ZZ2 and markets with RSA, All Joy, Tiger Brand and the local market. The project is also a partnership of the Netherlands Embassy, DSBD and the Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Mathale was joined by the MEC Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, HOD, Director General, Netherlands Embassy and other high profile dignitaries visiting three of the twelve farms including the pack house.
