The Minister for Small Business Development Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams embarked on a whirlwind Back-to-School Outreach Programme which started off at Menziwa High School and Ndibela Primary School in Mqhekezweni on the banks of Mbhashe river along the gigantic N2 highway connecting Mthatha and East London port.

Eastern Cape is dubbed the home of legends due to it being at the birthplace of various political heavyweights both past and present. Mqhekezweni near Mthatha on the banks of Mbhashe river is the original home of the late iconic former first democratic President of South Africa and Nobel Prize Winner (1993) Nelson Mandela.
Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams was accompanied by the Executive Mayor of King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality Nyaniso Nelani, local municipal officials and traditional leaders.

This Back-to-School initiative provides financial, operational and logistical support to guarantee formal and non-formal education for pupils and youth aged between 7 and 17 while strengthening the long-term capacity of the South African public education system to improve the quality of education services.
