The Department of Small Business Development (DSBD) will be embarking on a profiling mission of beneficiaries that have benefited from the Department’s financial support during the pandemic and SMMEs and Co-operatives from areas that were battered by heavy rains and floods.

Deputy Minister for Small Business Development, Mr. Sidumo Dlamini visited various schools in KwaZulu-Natal as part of Back-To-School Campaign . The initiative is aimed at assessing the state of readiness in various schools and to provided learner support. Deputy Minister handed over school shoes, backpacks and sanitary pads to learners.

Minister for Small Business development, Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams is scheduled to lead a delegation of senior officials and programme managers from the Department of Small Business Development to handover machinery and equipment to informal business owners in the Western Cape on 07 February 2023. 

Annually, government rolls out a range of Back-to-School initiatives at the beginning of January to mid-February to promote education. The National Development Plan calls for the implementation of a joint national initiative involving all stakeholders to drive efforts to improve learning outcomes.
