The Department of Small Business Development led by the Deputy Minister for Small Business Development, Ms Dipuo Peters conducted an Intergovernmental Schools ID Campaign in partnership with the Department of Home Affairs, Kimberley District Office to Ritchie community in Sol Plaatje Local Municipality in the Northern Cape province.
 
The campaign brought the service on wheels programme which targeted first time ID applicants, offering holders of the old RSA green barcoded ID book to migrate to new Smart ID cards as well as assisting mothers who may have missed the opportunity of registering their newly born babies for birth certificates at the time of their birth. This ID campaign is to keep in line with the Department of Home Affairs mandate of having South African citizens recorded in the National Population Register.
