As part of her ongoing Eastern Cape tour, the Minister for Small Business Development Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams is leading the Informal and Micro Enterprise Development Programme in the township of Port Alfred, kwaDuza. Minister Ndabeni-Abrahams is handing over tools and equipment to 68 informal traders.

The (IMEDP) seeks to empower and develop informal traders to become skilled and adequately equipped to manage their businesses. It also provides equipment and machinery that is needed in various sectors.

The handover of business tools and equipment is part of the IMEDP Programme, a nationwide trajectory of the DSBD which strives to accelerate the growth of informal and micro enterprises.

Minister Ndabeni-Abrahams is using this opportunity to engage the SMMEs, Co-operatives and other small business players in the ecosystem.
