Huawei Developer Competition is coming to South Africa. As Huawei’s flagship event for global developers across fields, since its launch in 2017, the event has attracted 800,000 developers in more than 50 countries.

Huawei South Africa has launched the Huawei Developer Competition 2025 Code4Mzansi. The competition, which is part of a larger international challenge is inviting South African developers, startups and student teams to build cloud-powered solutions that tackle real-world challenges.

Designed as springboard for local talent, Code4Mzansi will give access to Huawei Cloud’s powerful tools, APIs, and platforms, to turn strong ideas into deployable prototypes, with winning innovations walking away with R800 000.00

The competition is open to all South Africans enthusiastic about digital transformation including developers, software engineers, AI and data scientists, tech startups, SMEs, and university and college students. Participants can compete solo, form a team, or join an existing team of up to five members.

Contestants will have access to Huawei Cloud architecture, AI and data services; technical mentorship, exposure to international peers, networking opportunities, and the chance to prototype, pilot and scale solutions with cloud backing.
