The Department of Small Business Development and its agencies, Seda and sefa are participating in the Women Empowerment Expo taking place in Kameelrivier B (KwaDudu), Mpumalanga province where young people particularly women are empowered through start-up business EXPO.

The EXPO aims to provide networking, information and celebrating the achievements of women in businesses and promoting positive narratives about their roles in society.

The Minister for Small Business Development,Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams is accompanying President Cyril Ramaphosa in the 12th District Development Model Presidential Imbizo being held at Tsakane Stadium on the East Rand.

This gathering speaks to the proper implementation of the much needed DDM which encourages significant collaboration between the state, private sector and MSMEs.

The Director-General (Acting) for DSBD, Ms Thulisile Manzini is today leading the Public Service Women Management Week 2024 departmental meeting.

The purpose of the meeting is to assess progress made by the DSBD in its implementation of the Head of Department’s 8 Principles Action Plan for Promoting Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality in the Public Service.

The meeting is held under the theme “Celebrating Diversity, Embracing Inclusion.”

The DSBD is celebrating Women's Month by visiting Lindiwe Sanitary Pads plants situated in Limeroc Industrial Park in Centurion.

The hygienic towel firm is owned by serial entrepreneur Lindiwe Nkuna Kgopa.The sanitary pads and towels manufacturer, is a first of its kind in the male dominated industry. Owned by a female director, the company designs and makes its products based on quality, comfort and affordability.
