07 August 2021 – Department of Small Business Development welcomes the appointment of Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams and Deputy Minister Sdumo Dlamini. The Department of Small Business Development (DSBD), together with its entities and the entire small business fraternity welcomes Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams to the Ministry responsible for the transformation of the economy, empowerment, and development of small to medium enterprises as well as cooperatives.

Small business and informal business associations condemn violence and looting

16 July 2021 - Small business and informal business associations condemn violence and looting and welcome interventions by the Department of Small Business Development to provide support to existing and new SMMEs and informal trades. On Tuesday 13, July 2021, Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni held a meeting with the leadership of the NAFCOC, SAITA and Foundation for African Business and Consumer Services (FABCOS) pertaining to matters affecting SMMEs and Informal Traders.

MINISTRY WARNS PUBLIC ABOUT FAKE SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS IMPERSONATING DEPUTY MINISTER, DIPUO PETERS

The Ministry of Small Business Development warns members of the public not to fall prey to fake social accounts which purport to belong to the Deputy Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Dipuo Peters. This appears to be a well-coordinated plan by con artists to target small business owners through impersonating the leadership of the Department of Small Business Development.
